not easy to choose healthy foods. We are constantly being bombarded with advertisements parading the benefits of healthy eating and good reasons for doing so. That’s the American way of life. Work hard and fast, eat fast and evil and devils with the consequences. We will make sure that when the time comes.

The consequences can range from bad to worse. For me it was a trip down the road with sirens blaring, lights flashing and paramedics feeding me nitroglycerin. That trip was not fun, as a matter of fact, it was down right scary. But it did get my attention!

As a young man of sixty-five was not ready to test a rocking chair waiting to die. I wanted to live, be productive and enjoy life. So I decided that if I wanted to live – I’m working on the registration of Methuselah – he had to make some changes in my life.

What I needed to change most of it was what I put in my mouth. They say it’s what you eat. Eat garbage and you have a sick body. Unless you have a good reason to change, I can be very stubborn. So here is a list of the reasons I decided to choose healthy foods.

1) say goodbye to all chemicals

Check the label of that food to serve your family. Look at all of preservatives used to prevent spoilage and better yet see all the ingredients you can not even pronounce, much less know what they are.

3) I can choose to eat to live longer

Reports of obesity and all the health problems it causes are all the news these days. From children to adults the problem is worsening as people turn to fast food for lunch and dinner.

Obesity puts a terrible strain on your heart, making it work twice as hard to function properly. Causing high blood pressure and all sorts of complications that can not be reversed unless they lose that weight. Obesity is directly related to diabetes, which is also increasing in the United States.

Eating healthy makes me feel better and have more energy. If you eat healthy, studies show that one can live longer and have fewer health problems than someone who does not.

I would live to enjoy my grandchildren and one day their children. I choose to eat healthy. If healthy food can make you live longer, I can choose to eat to live longer.

4) I decide to eat to stay healthy

If healthy food choices helps me maintain vibrant health then I choose healthy food choices. All around me I can see evidence of wrong choices of food. You can too. Just watching people go in any mall or a busy street corner and be overwhelmed by all the results of wrong choices of food.

The good thing about making healthy food choices is that you can start at any time. Like right now! I did not until this trip in an ambulance caught my attention. Making healthy food choices is now a daily occurrence. It is becoming easier to make those decisions, to say no to unhealthy foods and live a healthy lifestyle.

5) I want to enjoy my family

If healthy food choices that allows me to live longer and be healthier for you to enjoy my family, I can choose healthy foods. I have eight children, eight grandchildren so far and a fantastic woman.

What is important is being able to spend much time with my family to let them know that love so much.

I want to be able to spend much time with my wife. When work and is taking care of children who fail to spend time with your spouse. By making healthy food choices now I hope that the will of the Lord, I will get to spend much time with her.
